Akash DTH (Direct To Home), a by-product of Beximco Group, became the title sponsor of the special edition of the Bangabandhu-Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20-2019, which will begin on December 11. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nizamuddin Chowdhury Shujan stated it to media at a formal press conference at the media block of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur yesterday. Beximco Communications Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisal Hyder and Bangabandhu-BPL Grounds and title sponsor right holders K-Sports CEO Fahad Karim were also present on the occasion. Akash has purchased the rights of the title sponsor for the special BPL from K-Sports. “The special edition of the Bangabandhu-Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20-2019 is the first programme to celebrate Bangabandhu centenary birth anniversary. We are happy to stay with this special edition,” said Beximco Communications CEO Faisal Hyder “We’ve launched our service, Akash through Bangabandhu Satellite-1 on May 2019. We’re the first and biggest customer of the ‘Bangabandhu Satellite-1’ as of yet. Our Aksah service is an exciting new brand. It’s a new technology of TV viewing experience. We’ve used first in Bangladesh. We’ve 120 more channels, where we’ve included 40 more HD channels. We’re promoting Bangladeshi channels, who are broadcasting in HD. We’re trying to send the valuable service to our customers,” Hyder told media during the press conference. “Our expectation is that the standard of our cricket will be improved further through Bangabandhu-BPL. The World Cup it is being held ahead will help it,” he added. Beximco Communications CEO later said that they have made arrangements of public viewing in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet, where they will project the matches of the special BPL.
